One of the highlights of the Intern Queen party was having the opportunity to meet Diem Brown. Diem, who is Lauren’s good friend and former roommate, is mostly known for her appearance as a contestant on MTV’s Real World/Road Rules Challenge. When she was 23, Diem was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. After treatment and chemotherapy, Diem remained as beautiful as ever even with her hair gone.

Diem founded a company called MedGift.com, a patient gift registry and social network. After 4 years in remission, she recently found out the cancer has returned in her remaining ovary. Now, she is one of the first current ovarian cancer patients to try freezing her eggs in hopes of having children down the road. She is one of the strongest, kindest women I have ever met.
